RegClean is a fairly new registry cleaner product
which is gaining popularity fast in the registry repair
market. It was created by a company called 2Squared Software
and is compatible for Window 98/ME, 2000, XP & Vista.

What it Claims to Do:
RegClean makes many of the typical claims
that are found in most registry cleaners but they certainly
don't leave anything to the imagination. It is able to
do tuneups to your PC as well as to repair and remove
errors to your registry, both automatically or manually.
One of the things that we really like about RegClean it
is the fact that it backs up your registry before it makes
any changes, an important feature in case something should
happen to go wrong. After your registry has been cleaned,
it will schedule automated scanning in order to keep problems
from occurring in the future.
What it Actually Does:
After running RegClean on our test computer,
we were able to notice a significant difference in the
overall performance. It was impressive to watch the number
of problems that this scanner was able to identify and
then clean.
There were a few problems that RegClean was unable to
solve but it turns out that they were virus related, not
registry related. Our default virus scanner was unable
to recognize these problems but a quick check with an
online service got rid of any stragglers that were left
behind. Of course, a registry scanner cleans the registry,
not viruses so we were happy with the performance enhancements
that we received from this product.
Conclusion:
We found RegClean to be very easy-to-use
and the simplistic controls to us through the process
but it would have been nice to have a little more documentation
on the program.
All in all, we found this to be a very thorough and reliable
program and would recommend it for technophobes and computer
beginners. For more advanced users, we would suggest that
you use a more robust program, such as RegCure
